Mildred P. Machura, nee Hlinka, age 91, of Dyer, IN formerly of Burnham and South Chicago, IL. Passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at St. James Manor in Crete, IL. Loving wife of the late Andrew S. Machura. Beloved mother of Robert (late Jacquelyn) Machura and Joyce (Larry) Marks. Proud grandmother of two; great-grandmother of 3. Preceded in death by her parents Michael and Ludmila Hlinka, three brothers and four sisters. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. Prayer service Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. from the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311 to St. Ann Church (3014 Chicago Rd. Lansing, IL 60438) for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. William McFarlane officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery – Calumet City, IL. Mrs. Machura retired as a Senior Cook at South Chicago Hospital and was a member of the St. John the Baptist Rosary Society. The family would also like to thank the staff at St. James Manor for the loving care they provided their mother over the past two years.
